Game of Love
Tic-Tac-Toe
sudden death
Intense competition; there's too much at stake here. Draw after draw after draw. You'd think by now we'd learn each other's strategies. It's a game of life or death: you win and my heart implodes; I win and you lose your sanity. Our friendship doesn't matter anymore, does it?
X's and O's: hugs and kisses, hits and misses.
Each of us rooting for the opposite team. How long will it be before we finally lock eyes and say the things our actions refuse to? How long will it be before one of us admits defeat? My starry eyes keep getting crossed as these games keep piling up. Your eyes show nothing, no defeat and no malice.
Our hands waiver as the symbols repeat. We're caught in a free fall. There are too many distractions, too many obstacles that take us away from the subject at hand: is there ever going to be an 'us'?
