The New Girl
She’s the new girl in school.
Nobody thinks she’s cool.
No one to sit with at lunch.
She sits in the bathroom to munch.
She sits in the corner.
Crying like a mourner.
Everyone knows she’s there,
But doesn’t pay attention to her despair.
She curls her hair and buys new clothes.
As she walks through the halls, no one knows.
She likes this boy maybe even loves him.
He’s in love with another and follows her every whim.
She decides to stand out.
Really want people to know what she’s about.
Going to a party she had a little too much fun.
Making herself look stupid in front of everyone.
She’s lucky it happened Friday night.
Two days she was stuck in fright.
Worrying about what people might think.
She walked through the hall and got a wink.
Was there something in his eye?
Or did I really get a wink from a guy?
She walks into class and everyone looks.
The guy she likes even carried her books.
She walks through the halls,
Now everyone calls.
Now sitting at lunch,
She has friends by the bunch.
