Of Awkward Silences and Friendship
I have spent much of my life talking to people
Only to realize that they have nothing interesting to say
All conversations end in awkward silences
And you have to bring up the weather or the time of day
I often sit on the curb and just watch people rush by
I imagine all the wonderful and exciting places they go
But I don’t want to know the boring truth
That they are just going to the bank to get some dough
But it’s not all melancholy and tedium
There are those golden few who really are cool
And those are the ones you have to hold on to
They are the ones that make it worth going to school
So to all you people out there who are just like me
Feeling bored with life and hoping for the boredom to end
Be on the look out for those who light up your life
Because there is nothing more valuable than your friends
