Unsustainable
I write a chocolate sea
The one where I first found love
Caring
A sense of belonging, your eyes
Pounding in everlasting waves
Against the rock of my breaking heart.
I write of light summer showers
I found acceptance,
Drenched and laughing right next to you
I write of new heights,
self discovery, awareness
to do with the love you taught me
I write the pride of fire
The love I felt burned true
I write the music,
The beauty you taught me to see
I write the sky
But you taught me,
Sky’s a limit that cannot apply to me
And clutching at the promise called tomorrow
I write my secrets, these are just for me
Thanks for making me who I am today,
My thanks will never reach you
And even though it’s night
It’s dark, I owe you
For a star still twinkles bright
For a part of me is you.
