Piano
those sleepless nights
that gray Husk sits at the
black and white control panel
throwing switches
pressing buttons
in frantic patterns
upright like a tree
a dance floor for the appendages
a flower in the cracks of a road
the panel is a crosswalk
to a thing much fuller
desperately, the Husk does scramble
to put life in death
a smile in suffering
color in gray
desperately it scrambles
to snatch jurisdiction
slowly
The Husk is altered
a smile etched in chalk
pigment regained
the knobs and latches
that it throws
gives temporary life
temporary dominance
and it becomes
temporarily
human.
