Visionless
"My words could never
portray how my heart feels for you,
you are beautiful and my love
cannot be chained in this lifetime."
And he picked a flower
in a field before the sand of gold,
He allowed the delicate petals to fly
freeing them into the wind
The scent of vanilla
still lingered in the air,
Frolicked across his skin,
conveyed chills along his spine
The glowing sunshine
tasted of summer.
His head collapsed into aged
hands, strong as his heart
Lavender and rose painted the sky,
kisses from yesterday
and today's farewells
Led him proudly to the sapphire sea
Then he looked down at his reflection,
his unruly ash hair; deep
salt and pepper brows
shaped above defined shaddows
Sunken eyes lined with creases,
a wide nose, ridged and scarred cheeks
narrow lips; a disfigured jaw
survived harsh battles from youth
He walked towards the hues
with a pleased smile on his face because
tomorrow was for; she saw someone beautiful
with her visionless eyes
