Love's Murder
I stare at him as he stares at the sky
The cigarette dangles from his frosty blue lips
"They'll kill you one day," I say
And he doesn't say anything but I feel as if he thinks the sooner the better
He was never very patient anyway
"You live in fantasy," you say
"Maybe my reality is your fantasy," I say
You glance at me and purse your lips, "Hardly"
(I was never very good with words but you always knew how to make yours hurt)
"Maybe you should try to dream," I say
"You already dream enough for me," you say
I smile and look away but still manage to say, "You could try."
(Or maybe you just know how to get yours to touch)
He wraps his arms around my waist
On the rooftop just like every other lonely day
"This will kill you one day," He says
And I don't say anything but I pull him closer instead
I believe its already happening anyway
