High Standards
You expect me to be something I am not
My misunderstood silence is mistaken for carelessness
Yet, asking for help is the easy path taken
Asking for help is weakness
My brain is constantly running the neverending mile
It can’t stop
It can’t slow down
I want to be better
I really do
Bu that’s a race I’ll never stop running
She came first, so I’ll settle for last
I’m always going to be stuck in her shadow
Because my good, will never be good enough
