i pretend to be famous in my mind to see how it would be

i touched the soft skin of a new born baby who knows nothing about the world
i worry that some day i would wake up and not find my family home

i understand that we can't live forever
i say "life comes at you fast, enjoy it as much as you can"
i dream of my life being different if i was born a different race
i try to break the typical stereotyping of a teenage black girl
i hope one day maybe we can find a cure for all diseases including AIDS and cancer
