your neon clothes might as well scream “open!”
a buzzing sign:
invisible.
your grey-wash eyes mask the
grand canyon half-moons
reclining underneath.
bruised lightly like the
ripest of fruits.
left for days.
baby, you smell sweet,
but upon further
inspection:
you’re rotten.
i want to cuff your sleeves.
blue lips.
you were so proud of your scars.
what if i said
(i have them too?)
