Facade
You're putting on a facade,
and disappearing, just to be noticed.
Covering up those imperfections,
sweet angel,
that only you can see.
You cry.
Cry wolf,
again, and again.
Screaming at the top of your lungs,
look at me, look at me.
You're brilliant,
little girl.
You speak pretty words,
like they mean nothing.
But they are the world to you.
You hide.
Hide behind your ghostly makeup,
and blackened eyes.
Afraid to reveal, what lies beneath.
You're beautiful,
precious,
You shine like the brightest star,
in the darkest sky.
You remember.
Remember that even when the world has torn you down,
even when you're hanging onto it for dear life,
there's no real need for that facade.
