Fallen Soldier

I'm running through the forest,
Gun strapped to my back,
trying to get back to checkpoints two and three,
Then I here a boom and I almost lost my leg.
I'm almost there just have to crouch,
For there are thousands watching by,
I see flashing lights upon my head,
I can make it I know i can,
Then a bullet goes right through my leg,
I hit the ground in a blink of an eye,
Then out of nowhere I see my troops,
They help me up and carry me to my destination,
After that day I got a purple heart for my wound.
