Promises
You promised me you’d never leave me. You broke that promise.
You said I was the only one you’d ever love. You lied.
You told me you’d always be there for me. But you’re not.
I said I love you more than anything in the world. I AM telling the truth.
Are you ever gonna come back? I’m crying over you.
Are you ever gonna need me again? I feel like I’ve died for you.
I promised you I’d always be there for you. I still am.
I said I would always keep you in my heart. And I have.
I told you nothing matters to me more than you. Nothing does.
Am I ever gonna desert you? No, I am not.
Am I ever gonna forget you? No, because I can’t.
I will love you forever and always, and that is a promise.
