Sunlight
Direct, but twisting and weaving its way,
overall in existence.
On a chill yet bone freezing day,
we lift our heads,
recieving gentle kisses before
hanging our heads and turning our backs,
only just remebering the simple pleasure
locked in its keeping.
While softly it calls, discreetly, to all.
Creeping on to our shoulders,
Waiting for us to affirm its presence
and bask in its radiant glow.
Though we morbidly and continually avert our eyes,
Rejecting all life and laughter freely given
Leaving behind our childish fancies
Slowly losing all giddy playfulness,
That once was ours to claim,
In that glorious,
surprising,
Sunlight
