The Pretty One
The pretty one, with the pretty face
She gets good grades, and walks with grace
Everyone likes what they don’t see,
But the pretty one is not me.
Theater and arts, that’s my way,
Soccer and sports, is part of her day
She is a lovely girl, don’t get me wrong
But all of her bragging makes be yawn
She try’s hard to be great or so they have told her,
But she just keeps adding up the weight on my shoulders
All the cameras smile, as they flash away
Do they know that today’s smile is as fake as yesterdays?
She wines like that of a baby that didn’t get its way
Or a three year old that couldn’t go outside and play
You may think I’m insecure, but that is not true
I am strong and confident, but she is too.
She beats me at everything but don’t you see
I love this girl with all of my heart,
She’s the best sister, a sister could be.
