Friends
Friends.
What is the meaning of a friend?
A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
That’s what the dictionary calls a friend.
I say a friend is someone who looks at you and smiles.
A friend is someone who loves to hear your voice.
Someone that calls you up to make sure you’re feeling well.
Someone that stays up with you all night long listening to you rant about your parents.
A friend says you look beautiful, even on your worst days.
A friend sits with you at lunch, and helps you play with your food.
Someone who listens to that song you sing over and over.
Someone who holds you, when you know you want to cry.
A friend never lets you down.
This kind of friend doesn’t exist.
All of my friends let me fall flat on my face, so I can learn from my mistakes.
They give me my space when my eyes start to well.
They yell at me to shut up when I keep on singing.
My friends sit with me at lunch and eat my food.
My friends openly admit when I look like crap.
They let me leave hour long messages on their phones, because who wants to hear me rant?
They wait for me to tell them how I feel.
They always say how annoying my voice is.
And they swear I look better with my braces.
That is the meaning of what friends really are.
Friends.
