Unorthodox MAG
At my wedding
They'll drop pine needles on the aisle
The flower girls will be flower boys
I'll walk in to the sound of trains leaving
And I'll wear a dress made of kelp and the red seaweed
That always gets stuck in my brother's hair.
I'm gonna wear sand dollar earrings
And moss in my braids
Nasturtiums too, because they're edible.
The readings will be from
Carolyn's notebook full of poems
And from my father's bookshelf
Full of fall leaves pressed between pages.
No one will give me away
Because I will give myself
And take all of you
Through my wide arms
Through the salt on my seaweed dress
Through the gaps between tide pools.
We will be far from the white tower.
