Why does everyone criticize me
Did I start this war
They say I chose this
I chose to fight this war
It’s my fault

I chose to fight for my country
Not political leaders
Not to fight their war
To defend freedom
Not oil
To defend democracy
Not to cover for the things it’s done

I am not the war
I’m stuck fighting for this war
Right or wrong
Democracy or freedom
Oil or money
I’m stuck fighting this war
Because it’s my country’s war
I am not the war

Also a class assignment. i chose to do a poem about the injustice of how some returning soldiers where treated.
