Music
A flowing, loving, graceful sound.
Entering my ears both clear and loud,
the song is even louder to the far off crowd.
I raise my arm and drag it fast across.
A sweet harmony composes in my throat.
I am a boat, the song a sea of notes.
As my voice suddenly dies, the next note I begin to play.
The singers, some on key, other off, have tears in their eyes.
The crowd gasps, mutters, and whines,
this song is too powerful it seems.
As I finish this song with one sour note,
the whole room seems to be devoid of life.
Tears shine within the audience's eyes.
Then my friend starts up another tune.
The fast-paced jig gets every person up to dance.
The song so lively, offers hope a second chance.
I too join in, once again.
Back to my interweaving harmony.
I'm a boat in a sea of notes.
The melody and harmony causing swells.
The swells that wreck my ship, and sent me adrift.
I'm now a castaway.
mesmerized and trapped by this sea I helped create.
This musical sea envelopes me.
And I return to playing.
My heart forever touched, my heart forever blessed,
by that astounding, musical, sea.
