She cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain. Enough to feel the scream inside. The lines she wear around her wrist are there to prove that she exists. "I walked through the hallway holding my wrists, hoping no one will see me like this. Her friends looks at her, scared what she'll find. The friend never thought she had these things in her mind. The friend asks her, "...is there any more?" Looking at them with tears in her eyes she whispers a simple reply,...'ever wonder what bracelets were for'..?

This is a quick piece I wrote about a friend who is struggling with self injury.
