Sneering Stars
When the Sun becomes a diamond,
And the Earth freezes up in awe,
The world will gasp at gilded stars,
Who sneer at men with flaws.
Lord knows why this should be,
That man shall walk with stars in flight.
What the darkened skies hold next,
Is fit for another night.
Someday, eternal wings will grow,
On the backs of haughty men.
Their flight to heights up high,
Will make them sneering stars again.
