My Christmas Wish
Dear God,
There is only one thing I wish for
This Christmas Eve
This is all I want for sure
So I ask you to please read
I wish for no sickness, no poor too
No death due to wars; it is a sin
To kill more than an innocent few
To me there is never any win
Fighting due to religion or property
Causes a lot of poverty
And why can’t governments agree to go green?
And why won’t they let everyone be heard and seen?
I believe that we can all be one soul
We can erase that large, violent hole
I know citizens of the world ask for this
So why do our leaders seem to miss?
I wish for peace and harmony
For nations to unite as one
The world should not be darkly
Every child should have fun
Like John Lennon’s song, “Imagine”
I dream of a better place too
For our planet to be a clear fountain
Where happiness overruns me and you
I dream of a blue and green sea
Where everyone is free
Where difference is adored
And our economies are restored
Everyone is the best of friends
All the way to heaven’s end
Nations are one country, one soul
And together we are a whole
So all I ask for Christmas this year
Is for peace and harmony to appear
