Band-Ten-Hut!
Polished black shoes, ironed black bibbers, red & blue tunics.
1 director, 2 band majors, 12 “flutalicious” flutes, 14 “crazy” clarinets, 14 “sexy” saxophones, 21 “green pawr” percussionist, 11 “inferno” trumpets, 7 “mello” mellophones, 12 “loud” baritones, 7 “lazy” tubas, 20 “who runs the show?” color guard, 27 “we’ll miss you” seniors.
2 weeks of band camp, 8 hours a day at home and 15 hours a day at away,
15 weeks of practice, 7 hours a week, 19 including Saturday camps, 3 competitions, 10 football games, at the most 2 playoffs.
Staying in step, in time, keeping the right pitch & tone.
Scoring 1st place for music, color guard, woodwinds & brass, percussion, majorette.
Receiving all ones, putting us in 1st for class & overall in competition.
Bringing home 7 different trophies, some plaques, some 5 feet tall & riding back to the school, falling asleep on the bus.
Strong, determined, respected, proud, trustworthy, spirited, friends, family.
