Santa's Gifts
At 11 o'clock on Christmas Eve
I lay awake
Just counting some sheep
While the magic of Christmas
Spun in my head
With boxes and bows and colorful thread
The snow softly falling
Around me outside
With Santa's big sleigh along for the ride
The reindeer in front
The presents in back
What more could one ask for
Than the thumpity thack
Of reindeer's soft hooves
On top of your roof
While a big bag of presents
slid down your flue
Followed quite shortly by Santa's big belly
While he's ho ho hoing
What a jolly good fellow
He set up the presents
Under the tree
He ate all the cookies
He said "they had given to me"
He drank all the milk
But left all the gifts
For the children to find
With merry yip yips
And cries of great joy
floating off of their lips.
