My Shadows cause the sun to fade,
bats thirsty for blood and fear,
they come out at night, deadly,
causing never ending pain, torture.

My Shadows cause the death of millions,
a bullet only wanting to hug you,
to love all of gods children,
piercing anything that gets in its way.

My Shadows cause the darkest of nights,
a man to be born without a single mistake,
he's silent, careful, and skilled in desperation,
factors only found in robbery, abuse, and murder.

My Shadows cause the hope of many,
bringing you joy with hints of happiness,
to start life like a race, winning,
only at the end, you lose, life cannot beat death...
Shadows.

The author's comments:
When i was told to write a poem about how life or anything in general could be dark, or depressing, the very first idea i could think of was death. on the first stanza i used bats in the night because bats represent darkness, they come out at night, searching for there pray and torturing the exact thing the want the most, something to eat. The second stanza was a bullet in general that could and does kill anything that gets in its way, and by then i thought, "why not use happiness, then downfall into darkness?" so i used a love for what a bullet craves, but at the same time if a bullet loves you, it will hurt and kill you in the end. it continues on and on in the third and fourth stanza with winning and not having any mistakes, but even though your skills are what makes you who you are, most people use there skills for evil, and in the end it all will never matter, you enjoy life at first and all its good, but in the end, its only your shadow that you can really rely on.
