My beautiful Kate
To my unborn daughter
who grew steadily in my womb
I picked out a name for you
a name that means the world to me
Kate, after my best friend
I bought clothes for you,
white and yellow onesies
white because you were the start of a brand new life
for me and for you
Yellow because as the sun is the center of our solar system,
you are the center of mine and brighter than a star
I sang to you, even though you weren't born yet
every night my lips produced the lullaby of Daisy Bell
and everyday I plucked fresh daisy's to place beside your crib
To my unborn daughter
I want to say I'm sorry
I'm sorry I'm so weak
that my body wasn't strong enough to hold you
I'm so sorry that you never even got the chance to breathe
But I love you, I will always love you
my wonderful unborn daughter Kate
