Too Much Unsaid
In a moment of honesty,
When I'm not afraid to unwrap my own
Feelings
And inspect each of them, one
By one,
I become panicked with how much I haven't told you,
Such as the way your name
Makes me
Smile,
And how much ground I must cover before it's too
Late,
And you're a regret—
I don't want to have any regrets, with you,
Or ruin one more
Relationship,
Or wish I'd made you feel like you had a place to stay;
I don't want to have the words "I love you" or
"This is why"
Burning on my lips and burning us to the ground
With unspoken—
Water—
In a moment of honesty,
Alone with myself,
I wonder why the walls were worth putting up
All this time,
If they only protected my heart,
But destroyed
Love,
And sheltered me from something better than comfort:
You.
