It Should Stay Ugly
There's a stain
Next to where the ink pen was dropped
Dripping
Her blood,
Dripping
The notes she left behind ran with her tears
And her anger
The pen might as well have been the
Weapon that opened
The floodgates
Of her
Veins
Because ink convinced her that her sorrows
Were beautiful
And death a satisfying end for a poet
Like her,
Tragic just like the heroines'
Of ages
And the ink stain resembled her romanticized
Broken heart
But her blood came from
The real
Thing.
