If I could scare away the monsters with only a match,
I’d drive them out of every city using a single catch.
No zombies or ghost,
nor fathomless host
would ever hurt you my dear.
All I’d ask you was what you heard.
Was there a scratching at the window or a clawing at your bed?
Were there gnashing teeth, or was it in your head?
I’ll banish your foes so long as you sleep.
So don’t worry now; no monsters will creep.
