Goddamn,
but how we go on
and on
about the importance of this,
the significance of
that;
and while I, like any other bipedal
mortal, strive
to string my poems along in a way
that strikes a chord
among
you;
oh how effortless it is to
become indifferent
once you realize that the denouement
of this story
comes not with an epilogue but
with bits of ashes
and atoms
scattered here and there, spiraling
apart with increasing speed,
endlessly;
and that is my forever.
