I threw it out yesterday,
the body had betrayed me.
But if I told you, would anyone
really believe?

The aching joints and throbbing scars
had all but held on.
I stare out the window, now
knowing my corpse is gone.

I didn’t need it as far as I could reason,
to stay here anyway.

Cause bruises and tears vanish with the years
into complete nothingness.

Bodies will go,
even if you don’t,
and the Earth will turn back into them.

We are the gems,
blanketed in stars,
unknowingly hidden from the universe.

The world will forget
what we regret,
but promises not to leave.

The author's comments:
I originally write this for a song, but decided it sounded better as a poem. :) This is kind of like a tribute to Twenty One Pilots because they inspired me to write it. XD

ok, I shall explain it for you lol. It starts off with someone who either is dead inside, or is thinking about suicide, but no one will really listen. That person belives that as a soulless body,  they still exist on Earth, then they go as far as to explain that physical being is not important to them because bruises and tears are all temporary. After that, the person speaking talks about death, and even if you're unwilling to leave spiritually, your body will still decompose into the earth. Then the narrarator says that we are hidden (emos and stuff) and have meaning and value despite what others cant see behind all the popuklar kids. The ending is about the persons life being unimportant, and that years will pass, people will forget they ever existed, but the earth will still be there.

Thank you! I wrote this during MAP testing, so I had to memorize it. (I'm not allowed to take any paper with me) It took like the rest of the time Ihad left to memeorize it lol

I really got the picture. I think a lot of times people miss that imagery makes a reader feel a certain way, so it's important to have the right imagery (I don't know if that makes sense). It doesn't hurt that I love your point so, AWESOME.
