I should have known you
were hardwired
into my heart by the hands
of fate,
because neither of us
could stop the momentum
of our inevitable
crash,
and the system must have been built
to be reborn
from the rubble of our
shortcomings

and yet I can't
blame it all on the stars;

I loved you,
but my rebellion whispered
I musn't have you.

i disagree midnight, but the way i looked at it, is that im too stubborn to have u or something like that. But then again i can see as how u might just see it that way.

Rebellion, a bad word with different connotations. This reminds me of my own poem "Burn My Bridges", while we know our mistakes and that we need to fix them. Keep writing!
