If a Tree Falls
If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound?
I saw a grand oak one day
I watched him crashing to the ground
He cried and sobbed and pleaded
For anyone to help
But being just a child
I turned and walked away
For how could I assist him
Or put his pain at bay?
I’m sure he felt alone
I’m sure he felt unheard
Like he wouldn’t make a difference
For no tree ever could
But what he didn’t know
Was that I will not forget
The grand oak in the forest
Who made me who I am
I learned you never know who’s watching
Who will pass your wisdom ‘round
For even if you think you’re silent
You’re actually quite loud
