My Wild Fox
Her hair falls to her shoulders
I know she wouldn’t accept me
not like that anyway
it tears into me
like walking on glass
I can’t tell her
if I did
I’d lose my bestfriend
She brushes her hair into a ponytail
Perfect
like a foxes fur after running in the moonlight
I always tell her,
tell her everything
I need to tell her,
but I can’t
She wants to know
I can’t tell her
she’s guessing asking for hints
like a fox hunting only for answers
“Is she pretty?”
beautiful
but I can’t tell her that
“Do I know her?”
in a way
but I shouldn’t tell her that
I have to tell her,
my fox
held in captivity
for all to see
I need to tell her,
tell her that,
I love her
