The Hurt I Hide

One day in May you passed me by.
One day in June you caught my eye.
Saw you looking with starry eyes so bright with life.
Now I see you in a different light that’s full of strife.
Had what I was looking for.
But now that path is out the door.
I wanted something to last forever.
But you went around doing whatever.
Needed to tell you how I felt,
But you just ran away leaving me to melt.
Wanted you to communicate,
Letting me know so I could reciprocate.
I was drained from the actions you were taking,
Left me feeling like my heart was breaking.
One day in May you passed me by,
One day in June you caught my eye.
This month of July is feeling harder to get by,
Because you made me say goodbye.
