Finally Letting You Go
Letting you go was the hardest thing
Thought I would be better off alone
You look perfectly fine with i’m around
But our friends say you aren’t
Saw that you’ve found new friends
Although it hurts I love to see that you’re happy
Hearing you laugh keeps me going
Seeing you smile hurts knowing you’re better off without me
Having to see you everyday excites me
Knowing that you want nothing to do with me helps forget you
We used to be great together
Always happy and smiling
Laughing together
But now it’s all silence
You were the one I didn’t want to lose
I always thought me and you were always going to be friends
Even if I was hiding my feelings
Your laughter was like a temporary solution to all my problems
You made me who I am today
We still hang out with the same friends without talking or even looking at each other
I get random urges to call you and tell you that I miss you
But you won’t even answer my text
Soon we’ll be alright
I can hate you sometimes
I thought having you gone would help with my emotional state but it’s gotten worse
I realized that you hate me even more than I thought
That doesn’t mean I’ll ever hate you
Maybe we won’t forgive each other for the pain we caused one another
I know we are both upset that we lost one another
And I want you back but you don’t want to come back to me
Everything we’ve done together
All the laughter
All the smiling
Is gone
We are now strangers again, but this time with memories
Those memories will always stay with me
We created a story and now it’s time for the next chapter

This piece is about how I lost an important part of me by losing my bestfriend. I told her I liked her and now she's gone. I wrote this as a way to help myself let her go.
