Smile again
Verse 1:
When I was young,
I was afraid of all the harmful,
heartless people,
I learned to hide,
my every pain,
behind a smile,
across my face,
behind that smile,
where I stayed asleep,
was a faded dream,
Verse 2:
after a lot of standing,
alone by myself,
quiet in the day,
I made the cry for help,
they stood by me,
but only temporarily,
then they were gone,
without a second thought,
Chorus:
I thought that I could make it on my own,
but it seems,
I was sadly mistaken,
I thought that smile could finally be real,
but no one stayed by my side,
then,
that one smile came,
I felt relief,
I let my guard down,
then you saw through me,
and tore me down,
I never imagined that it would be this bad,
almost as unbearable as when I was hurt before,
then I met someone like me,
broken and hidden from society,
you took my hand and said,
"perhaps we may smile once again",
Bridge:
Since that day,
we never parted from one another's grasp,
we live happily,
even knowing of our treacherous pasts,
I adore you,
you adore me,
we don't need any of their unkind words,
you and I,
for each other,
hand in hand,
smiling,
once again,
with you,
now I will smile once again.
