Fat-Shaming: Hollywood's Beauty Standards
I swipe a slice of pizza off the platter,
And turn to face my deepest darkest fear:
Hollywood deriding me with fake flatter
Over my plus sized body with a leer.
Against my will, a tear rolls down my face,
Humiliation hits me then I cry
And run. I am an ugly, fat disgrace;
Alone, I let myself believe their lie.
In the stalls, I make a fatal blain;
My heart, so full of grief, an empty beat passed
I laugh coarsely; I’ll ne’er sense pain again.
A smile settles as I stand my last
I’ll never be so loved as River Rhine;
Tis’ true I’ll never see the bright sun shine
