A Sonnet for my Star
My love, my dear, how have we come this far?
Indeed, it only seems like yesterday.
Your light, so bright, my everlasting star,
has reached my eyes and touched me where I lay.
No other star out there can shine like you.
Illuminate me, make me light and fair.
I need to feel your glow to make me new.
No scene of cities; buildings can't compare.
For you alone, I gaze up at the sky.
You shimmer, sparkle, send a smile to me.
You glow for me alone, I wonder why.
You're simply more than I will ever be.
So won't you stay, my love and shine so bright;
forever glowing, lighting up my nights.
