The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The book that I read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I thought it was a really good book with a lot of interesting characters. It's about a girl named Katniss who lives in District 12 of Panem. It is run by the Capitol, and every year, one boy and one girl are chosen at random to participate in the Hunger Games. It is a fight to the death with only one winner. When Katniss's little sister is chosen, she volunteers to take her sister's place in the Games. She promises her sister that she'll do her best to win.
I thought the characters in this book were very interesting. They showed the things that people will do to survive and win. I thought that Katniss was a great role model also. She's hardworking, caring, smart, and a fighter.
I loved the author's writing style. She makes it difficult to put the book down, and when I finished, I eagerly went on to reading the next book in the series. Overall, this was a very enjoyable book and I would recommend it to just about anyone.
