The movie was based on Josh Malerman’s book of the same name.

Malorie is a woman who is struggling to survive with her two children

after a mysterious force kills off most of the world’s population. Her

children wear blindfolds and are reminded constantly by Malorie that

they better not take them off - no matter what they hear, because the

blindfolds protect them from evil creatures. If they remove their

blindfolds, they will die. Malorie has to take a dangerous journey with

her two children and she is going to have to do it blindfolded. She called

her children Boy and Girl. Malorie and her children make their way

blindfolded down the river on a boat fighting off infected survivors. They

survive raging rapids and being separated. The monster temps herr

children to remove their blindfolds but is unsuccessful. At the end of the

movie, Malorie named her children. The girl is named Olympia and

the boy is named Tom. Finally, Malorie and her kids are free from

the unknown creature that once controlled them. Malorie was a strong

woman. She will do anything and everything to protect her children.

of a mother to protect her children.”
