Excursion MAG

By Anonymous

A caterpillar drives too slow
and we honk thehorn
as we pass him.

The narrow mountain road
rolls us to atunnel where
Indian ghosts still paint the walls.

Outside a stubborncactus grows
into a scaly juniper
then into a sticky pine.

Dustywindows roll down
to let the buzzards in.
Mother's perfume attractsthem.

Cool night follows
and moon-shadows light
a dashboard epitaph.
