I Remember

I Remember being in the Dark
Being Abandoned, Lost and Scared
Reaching my hand out to grasp the Silence
I Remember my thoughts Screaming
Reminding me not to lose Hope
That there is Light to be Discovered somewhere
I Remember regaining Balance,
Like a doe Learning to Walk for the first time
I Remember Tearing bricks from the Wall,
Which Stood with the Strength of an Ox
Slicing open the Delicate flesh of my palms
I Remember Stumbling into the Arms of Second Chances
And Unconditional Love
Forgiveness, Strength and Stability
Welcomed me
I Remember being Saved by the
Inevitable
